Dear
Modelling-friends,
if we are
ready for new technics in modelling, I want to test the „hairspray-method” to
become a better result of used winter-camouflage.
The kit of
a T34/76 is produced by Tamiya, in building was no further problems. The
Tamiya-Kits are well known for their quality. The only one thing that was annoying
myself at this kit, was the glas of headlight, because it was no clear part. So
I have scratched this glas from an old sprue.
In painting
I was using the “color-modification-technic”; a way to bring some accents and more nuances in in your model. By this model I
have painted with Dark Green, lightened with yellow and in some parts with
white. All colors was acrylics, to allow the further working.
Essential
is, to work with lighter colors, because the next step – the filtering – makes the
colors a little big darker. I have filtered with oil-color “Van Dyke”-brown,
diluted with “white spirit”.
A filtering
was dried well, I have started with chipping, again using “Van Dyke”-brown and orange, to bring the effect
of some light rust.
With a coat
of clear varnish the normal painting was finished.
For
starting the “hairspray-method” the whole modell was spraied with
hair-fixing-spray, and after some minutes for drying, a coat of white acrylic
paint was applicated. After a few minutes, the white acrylic was removed by
using an old brush and warm water. It needs a little bit of time, before you
can see a result, but after this short time, you have work fast to avoid not
wanted results.
A new coat
of varnish fixes the pint-job, before the conclusive chipping was starting.
I hope you
enjoy the pictures –
Happy
modelling
