The
kit:
The
kit of the Bf109 E4/7 comes from Tamiya, arranges the box after opening,
modelling-fun pure.
Super
detailed over all. Since I had another Resin cockpit of the company Aires in my
remains-crate however, the opportunity finally presented itself to install
it.
The
assembly:
First
I solved all Resin-parts and cleaned her with dishes-washing liquid, so that
the primer sticks. By some test-mountings I must see, that the that the
mounting of the Resincockpits was not so easy. Some grindings later
(Side-paneels, ground-plate, aso.) finally I came to an useful result. As
primer-paint for the cockpit, I would use RLM 02 and aged in usual manner
afterwards: Color-broth, dry-brush, Mikro-chips. After finally built-in the
cockpit, I could glue the two torso-halves. The - by grinding the glue-seams
- gone engravings, I had to engrave new.
The undercarriage I gave Break-cables from thin Copper-wire, the exhaust pipe
was drilled with a micro-drill. Furthermore I wanted to represent the elevators
in upper position, so these must cutted from the tailplane (with a photo-etched
micro-saw) and fixed new. After then the airplane was ready to varnish.
Varnishing
and marking:
Since
I wanted always to build a BF109 with tropics-paint, following tones went into
action:
Upperside:
RLM 79 (GUNZE), RLM 80, AEROMASTER,
Underside:
RLM 78 (AEROMASTER)
Torso-band
(know), propeller-leaves RLM 70, Gunze, undercarriage, tabs RLM 02, Gunze,
I coated
the ready-varnished model with a layer " future ", to avoid „silvering“
of Decals.
I
didn't want to use the decals existing in the kit, since they appeared to me to
thickly.
I had
miscellaneous crosses and squadron-signs in my remainder-box, to represent
" yellow three " they was stationed in Lybia in 1941, pilot
unknown.
Result:
The
construction - with exception of the cockpit - has made ready much fun for 5
months!!!!
Happy modelling Christopher
