If at
„modellbauforen.de“ a contest has started, I’ve thought by myself to take part.
As some
viewer knows, I am a fan of the 48-Scale, but by this contest I have to change
to the greater 35-Scale.
Both kits
was produced by Tamiya – for quality of this manufacturer I don’t have to write
– it is well known. So I had no problems in fast building and I was able to
start to paint quickly. Both models was build out of box, no photo-etched or
other extraordinary parts was used.
Painting
was done with acrylics of Tamiya and Gunze, thinned with Isopropanol. I tried
to change the nuances of colors, to bring more realistic effects. Some
filtering with oil-paints and pigments in the arrea of wheels and chains for
dust and mud completes. The gearbox of the 250-Halftrak I had painted in black,
followed by a blue/black oil-paint-filter, to bring a metallic effect.
Because the
jeep was so empty, I had pimped tehm up with some parts out of the
kit-remains-box.
Anyway my
result at the contest was only good average, it brings a lot of fun, to
construct some models in this scale.
Happy
modelling
