Gallery: Homemade of a Hunting-Tiger in 1:16 back to Overview

Desciption of building:

Leave on to the construction, it was that I could buy a tub of a king-tiger of Tamiya favorably. This had to be separated in the area of the last castor then and is put in a 2cm patrol about on her original length.

Then, the dimensions were calculated at hand of a 1:35 model for the construction. The top was produced completely from differently fat ABS plates.

The side-aprons were produced from 0.5 brasses and were reproduced scrapes and damages like with the original simultaneously.

The most difficult part was the tube, since long it is 25cm and simultaneously conic. In the Internet, I found a company in Germany that my problem, the tube-shield could solve was produced from Balsa and the cast-surface reproduced with rarefied spatula afterwards.

All hatches are also from ABS and movable. The team was delivered by Verlinden.

Was still found before the varnishing at the entire model filth from a special-mixture from putty, small-track-grass and lacquer. One varnished with airbrush and Gunze-colors.

The model weights 6Kg and is full-functional, fully able to function sounds, lifts and lowers the tube, tube-retreat and lightning with the shoots the weapon, as well as Mg-fires and sound.

Construction-time  was approximately-2-months.

Best regards
Franz Malzer
