Diorama " I have found something here ....." in scale 1:48
Scrap-Elegy

She was the queen of heaven,
carefree was here life and free.

He was the master of the earth,
for his voice trembles the world .

her they have taken the wings,
and condemn her to mud and dirt.

Him they have taken the voice,
sentence him to silence.

Only in deepest despair, they find together,
and enjoy the period until the end.

Historical background
The Jagd-Verband 44 was ordered on 28th April 1945 from München-Riem to the „Alpenfestung“ in the area around Salzburg. Malfunctional material was leaved behind (that ist he reason for all the lot of pics from Me262’s near the Highway Salzburg-München). If the plane marked as “white 3” was moved also, hmmmm?? Not so sure, the „white 7“ surely stayed as a wreck at Munich …… There are some reports, they are instead of it; for all some statement of former civilian-employee at airport Salzburg, they have seen in the military area of the USAF an 262-airframe in bad condition, further some paintings they show „white 3“ IN the alps in desolation (allegedly come into being of eyewitnesses). Mindful the american souveneer-hunting, it is possible that any commander has “knock something down to them” as a souveneer.
After withdrawal of the USAF and handing-over the airport to austrian government, the thorough house-cleaning was started….. Now a scrap-dealer of this region comes on the scene – he became order, to dispose the junk……

The erlay Tiger has a similar fate: at the Nibelungen-Factory at St. Valentin was bouilt tanks until war was over. Near the end of war the Tiger II-tanks, but also conversions of the Tiger I-tanks to command-tanks; also some Tiger-I-tanks was in this factory as towtanks and for comparison. All of these – still at the factory existing - Types was requisitioned by troops on her way back to the „Alpenfestung“ …..
This is – for example – the reason, why three Tiger-I came into the lake „Attersee“ (they was sinked by the crew before capitulation; for recovery they lie to deep under to much mud) ….. At least one Command-Tiger survives and was given from the US-Army to the beginning Austrian-armed-forces for training. In accordance with eyewitness, the Tiger-I was for training in close combat. In 1955 the mentionend scrap-dealer comes on the plan, to dispose also here…..
Some of the disposed material was stored in the region near Bad Ischl, before it comes to melting furnaces, some have been forgotten, some stolen; it is possible that a tank turn up of this source in 1975 – in possession of a Neo-Nazi-Group near Munich; after decease of this scrap-dealer – so in 1965 - all of the remained military material was searched and destroyed.

Conclusion
So it COULD BE, that these two wrecks layed together in the region of Bad Ischl in romantically harmonic – speculatic I know – but possible ….. and before all very interesting for a modeller as a pattern.

For help in recherché I have to thank some Newspaper for using their archives, like “Kronen Zeitung”, “Presse” and “Kurier” – and the eyewitnesses for her statements.

With modellers best wishes
