The modell:
The model
of the M4 Sherman Early, produced by Tamiya, appears in wonderful Qualitiät
again. Clean poured parts and a segment-chain completes this good kit. The tub
is from metal, as with many models of this company in this scale. The Decals
convinced me to, with them the construction of different versions and theaters
offers itself. So models can be built for 4 different theaters.
The construction:
The
construction was easily by means of the good quality, the fitting is exactly.
You should only heed that you have to paint the chassis-part and the tub first,
before you connect them. That relieves the painting in this area very much. So
the construction is quickly finished and you can start after installing the
chains, with oldering and contamination of them. To make this step here, makes
it easier, because after installing the top-body you have problems to reach all
chassis-places to paint them. You have to watch for the correct suspension of
the wheels, because you have to use acryl-acetat for glueing and so there is no
time for corrections. During drying of the parts, you can continue with
construction and painting the top-body and the turret. If all parts are ready
then, you can continue with connect the components and the further
painting.
The painting:
For the
grounding, I have used XF-61 Dark Green, brightened up with XF-65 Field Grey.
The rubber-parts as well as the chain were painted with black and were
contaminated after drying with Dark Earth pigments. Also the contamination of
the sub-tub took place. With the waiter-tub, I proceed from the painting after
the same steps, first a grounding with DarkGreen and then the brightening with Field Grey. If everything has dried, the
model was coated with Klear to form a good basis for the Decals. I have
adjudicated for a version of a tank from the summer 1944 in France. If the
Decalses are dried well, another layer of Klear was coated, to avoid glimmering
of the Decals. After it has dried, the miscellaneous application-tracks and the
detail-painting with brush was done. Here, I use acrylic-colors of Vallejo,
because they were easeliy to use. The obligatory Washing takes place with
strongly rarefied oils in the hue black and burns Sienna. The metal parts were
primed black and then with graphite were treated. To this, I take a pencil,
with him I paint over that part, or I
scrape off ode a little and spread that part with the finger.
If you are
satisfied with the result, you have to seal over all with a layer of
matt-clear.
You can see
the used material at the first picture. Conclusion
An
interesting scale; with this models the miscellaneous manufacturers opens new
ways for dioraming. From the Detailling, they take second place in nothing to
their big brothers in 1:35. Also, there are accessories more and more and one
can develop like it further tense. I am excited from this scale and it doesn't
certainly, that I have build the last model from this series.
Happy modelling
