The model:
As one of the newest kits in scale 1:48 of the
company Tamiya you can characterize this model.Further improved castings, they
have beside the accustomed fitting a very good looking. And as a small addition,
you have insieded a commanders-figure, which also have some improvements
opposite the first figures of this company.
The construction:
On this, one can report also not much, the
construction appears in Tamiya typical way. All parts fit well to each other
and almost there is no after-treatment needed. Only the metal-tub represents a
small additional expenditure, because you cannot work with normal
plastic-glues, sever you must use Cyanacrylt to manage a good connection.
Otherwise the construction is simply and as the only supplement, the fan-fences
of Hauler are to be recommended. These parts would bring the model to a T... My
model was build in two components; the top and the hull was build seperate and
combined after completion.
The painting:
This took place with the airbrush and under
application of an individual color which was mixed from augments Tamiya-colors.
So various yellow- and brown-tones are included, also white and mixed by
feeling. The rubber-parts of the castors was painted with a black
acrylic-color. The tracks was still painted at the casting-branch, by using the
airbrush and as a tone the steel-color of Gunze. Totaly
coated with weak clear varnish of Gunze, to have a basis for the
following works. After a sufficient drying-period, followed by the montage of
the castors, the tracks was pulled up and the contamination was represent by
pigments. Since my StuG should get a winter-camouflage and it was rather muddy
soil, where it should have moved, I have decided in favor of a dark earth-color.
These pigments were scrambled with lighter-gas and were served with an old
brush. The track was still dry-painted with silver before. As all have dryed, I
connected the top and the hull and the decals was applyed. After this step, the
details were still painted with brush and acrylic-colors. Since I wanted to
show an already weaker winter-camouflage, I have gone a for me new way. This
camouflage was made with oil-color in a procedure like dry-painting. With quite
little color on the brush I have stroke over the model, partially I must it
repeat more than one time, until the result
became my contentment.
Conclusio:
A beautiful and interesting model from this
series, which also contents the fun-factor in building. Without big problems, you can build a good
model, commendable.
Happy modelling
