Tiger II:
For
the history of the tigers II or called by the Allied Forces
„king-tiger“, I dont had to lose no more words, because
this is sufficiently known and there are innumerable books and
brochures over this tank. Rather, the construction of a model of the Dragon in scale 1:35 employs me. The construction:
by first views the parts attracts positively, that everything is poured
clean and is necessary only very low rework. The
construction-instruction is precisely and truly hardly leaves wishes
frankly. This type of the construction-instruction with photos is a
very good idea and so also a beginner can produce a beautiful model
without problems. There are also no one
„Tamiya“-plastic-chains but singles-chain-limbs, that also
necessitate rework hardly. With my tiger, the known and popular chains
of the company Friul should go into action however however. The
model-kit is refined with some few photo-etched-parts, that are
enclosed separately. As well, an lathed aluminium-gun-tube is enclosed.
Since the caustic-parts appeared to me then too little
however, I get a sentence of the company Voyager for me,
unfortunately there were only the parts to this time for a tiger II
with Porsche-Turret, but that was rather indifferent me, the parts for
the tub are same with both versions and would certainly occur me
something for the Henschel-Turret …I had thought! The
construction went quite freely in front, thanks to good
construction-instruction and also the etched-parts were not at all bad
to process, until on the numerous tool-mountings, that have already
been cancelled a little to filigree, without tweezers and magnifying
glass you have no chance… or even everything goes wrong …
The towropes and the chain-elevator-rope are in form of
turned metal-braids with the etched-parts with it of which the overall
picture of the model increases the value about some. The
parts of the kit are precise very much precise and quite quickly the
shell of the tank originates so. Then, I came build the pain of the
choice … wich tank already once? Which version? Which camouflage
should go into action? Ambush-camouflage or the straight standard? In
books, many camouflage-patterns are quoted and I decided for one of the
few green camouflages, that the heavy tank-department 507used at end of
March 1945. The model was first brushed in olive, RAL 6003. Dont look
good ...... With darkness-yellow, RAL 7028, I made some spots and
whirl.... now he looks more bad, than before and I already
thought… .o.k., handles on it and into the trashl!! I left the
model in one corner unheeded. After a few days of the silence, I
concerned it then again. I carried strongly diluted a film with
turpentine over the whole tank, that I immediately blurred again and
see, with different oils, know, oxide-green, earth-brown, umbra (black)
on there….. it originated a beautiful contrast and the color of
the tank brightened up. I therefore built further. He looked with the
etched-parts and the chains then already quite passably. To all
abundance, I prepared the tube-cleaning-poles itself as well. Sandbrown
and earthbrown color-pigments, that give a contrast to the dark green,
still contributed to the last cut then and after a few weeks works he
stood ready in front of me. Everything in all already
originated lost believed model one of the best tanks, that I have built
until now, however from one from me. Without tips and tricks of other modellers, he would be doesn't secure become so however. Happy modelling Siegi Alram
