Either they are not looking like glas, or they are cloudy, muddy ...... Or some marks of cement, preferably on the inner side, where you could not repair it....... To say nothing of some rests of the adhesive tape, they are very stubborn and you could not remove them.For all these problems, there is a simple solution.
Now let us speak for the product and the way to use whem. The idea comes from the american modellers-scene, and has a high name recognition in the english-language arrea. In our region, it has become known at the last time - thank WWW. And here is the solution, it's called "Klear" - real it is an acryl-based floor polish. There is a lot of them on the market, and the most of them have similar characteristics, but in the most of them we have no experiences. So we are unable to give tips for others. "Klear" is obtainable at good sorted spezialized traders on easy terms. For example, you have to pay about 8,-- Euro for 250ml. If you mean, this is expensive, you have to consider, that you needs not so much of them in use, so it will be enough for a longer period.
Now an example of use - sure, some of us have own ways, but we want to describe an easy way. A way, we have tested and think it is good. At this place, we want to describe the immersion methode, it could be true, that you can apply "Klear" also with Airbrush or brush, but it is dangerous. For all it is dangerous for the Airbrush-Gun, because it get stuck in the gun very easy.
I have filled some "Klear" in a low and wide, small bowl to work easier. Than I take the parts, I wants to treat and cut them of the casting, with a small rest of the branch as a grip. This rest is to hold the clear-part and will cut off, if "Klear" is dry. Now I dip the part for some seconds in "Klear", let the surplus run off, than I place the part on a handkerchief for drying. To become good result, 24 hours for drying will be recommended.
After this treatment, you can work the part like usual. Fingerprints can be removed by polishing, cutting of adhesive tape can be made direct an clear part carefully by using a sharpe knife (skalpell). Above all, "Klear" makes your clear-parts more glas-like and brings resistence in remedy for damaging.
